Euro Disney Associés S.C.A.
Euro Disney Associés S.C.A. has been operating the Disneyland Paris site since April 12th, 1992. With over 215 million visitors since that date and a record-breaking 15.4 million visitors in 2009, Disneyland Paris is Europe’s leading tourist destination. The resort features two theme parks (Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park), seven Disney themed hotels with a capacity of about 5,800 rooms – and with an additional 2,400 rooms in partner hotels, two convention centres hosting over 1,000 business events per year, and a 27-hole golf course. Furthermore, the resort houses one of Ile-de-France’s largest entertainment centres: Disney Village, with themed restaurants, shops and a cinema complex spread over 30,000 sqm. In all, the destination boasts 56 attractions, 60 shops and 57 restaurants.
Disneyland Paris employs 14,000 people in over 500 different jobs. They represent over 100 nationalities, speak 20 languages and are thus prepared to help visitors in their own language – which has great relevance: as indeed, 49% of visitors come from abroad, mainly Europe.
Moreover, Disneyland Paris’ 14,000 talented employees make the company the leading private employer in Seine-et-Marne and the leading single-site employer in Ile-de-France. Beyond these direct jobs, Disneyland Paris significantly contributes to the economic growth of the whole of Seine-et-Marne and Ile-de-France. A social and economic impact study conducted by the French Government in 2006 revealed that the company generates close to 50,000 direct, indirect and spinoff jobs every year. Its business also sustains the entire French tourism industry: when a foreign visitor spends 1 euro at Disneyland Paris, he spends two outside! As for the fiscal benefits gained by the five municipalities that make up the Val d’Europe territory, where Disneyland Paris is established, they provide the means to modernise infrastructure, improve services and preserve the excellent quality of life experienced by the residents.
