Parkside District
Part of the urban continuity of the Downtown District, Shopping Centre and Place de Toscane, the Parkside District (Quartier du Parc) is mostly a residential area. It features a mix of high-quality private and social housing, as well as a tourist residence, a school complex and more … all of which adjoin a 2.5-hectare city park. In the future, this park should grow to around 12 hectares, thus providing a new landscaped pathway, a genuine “green” backbone for the town.

Place de Toscane: Charm and conviviality, a new town epicentre
Its name evokes Tuscany, with its golden stones heated by the sun, Cypress trees caressed by the wind and meals enjoyed in the open air … The new plaza in Val d’Europe has also borrowed the spirit of Tuscany – that of a unique sociability – as well as its style, meticulously reviewed by two talented architects, Pier Carlo Bontempi and Dominique Hertenberger. Inspired by the Piazza dell'Anfiteatro in Lucca, in the heart of Tuscany, it features the same delightful elliptical contour, highlighted by sandstone and limestone paving, as well as its meeting areas created to encourage taking one’s time, to savor a lifestyle with shades of Italy. A symbol of social interaction in the heart of the city, the architecture of Place de Toscane received a Palladio Award in the United States in March 2008.
